Burner Management System - BMS

Over many years of working with industrial furnaces, ovens, and pyro systems across various industries—including cement, lime, lithium, pulp, and paper—Goran Safety has accumulated extensive experience in HAZOP studies, process hazard analysis, and the safe design of burners, fuel valve trains, and Burner Management Systems (BMS).

Goran Safety Ltd assists customers with BMS design according to:

EN ISO 13577-2 and 4 (previously EN 746-2), the design standard for Europe

NFPA 85 and NFPA 86, the design standards for the USA

CSA B149.3, the design standard for Canada

AS 3814, the design standard for Australia

HAZOP studies and process hazard analyses for BMS adhere to the Functional Safety Management (FSM) and Lifecycle principles according to IEC 61511.

This encompasses SIL Allocation (LOPA, Risk Matrix, Risk Graph), Safety Requirements Specification (SRS), SIL Verification & Calculation, as well as Functional Safety Assessment steps (FSA 1, FSA 2, and FSA 3).

We are involved in the ISO TC 244 committee, which develops and maintains the design requirements for Burner Management Systems and thermoprocessing equipment, as outlined in ISO 13577-2 and 4.
